Billionaire Warren Buffet indicated he will not support either candidate for president in a memo released on his company’s website Wednesday.

“In light of the increased usage of social media, there have been numerous fraudulent claims regarding Mr. Buffett’s endorsement of investment products as well as his endorsement and support of political candidates,” the release said.

“Mr. Buffett does not currently and will not prospectively endorse investment products or endorse and support political candidates,” it added.

The non-endorsement contrasts with Buffet’s engagement in previous elections. He publicly backed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and former President Obama in 2012 and 2008.

Buffet joins a string of businessmen including Jamie Dimon and Bill Gates who have also refused to publicly endorse either candidate. However, reports from the New York Times suggest that Dimon and Gates privately support Vice President Harris.

Gates allegedly donated $50 million in personal funds to fuel the Harris campaign while his ex-wife came out publicly endorsing the Democratic nominee in late July.

Elon Musk has been the most high-profile billionaire backing Trump, however, a number of wealthy GOP donors who once criticized the former president are now back in his corner.

Harris currently has a 1 percentage point lead over former President Trump, with that lead narrowing in recent days, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s average of national polls.
