The services sector accounts for 53% of Colombia’s GDP and includes industries such as finance, insurance, real estate, and business services, community, social, and personal services, trade, repairs, restaurants, and hotels, and transportation, warehousing, and communication. Followed by manufacturing, mining, and quarrying contribute to the creation of 20% of the country’s wealth. In addition, government (10%), agriculture, hunting, forestry, and fishing (6.3%), construction (6%), and power, gas, and water distribution (4%).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the COP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the COP.
