Chicago Blackhawks left wing Tyler Bertuzzi and his wife, Ashley, in August paid $2.3 million for a six-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot newly built house in Lakeview.

Bertuzzi, 29, joined the Blackhawks in July when he signed a four-year, $22 million contract with the team. An Ontario native, Bertuzzi previously had played in parts of seven seasons with NHL teams, including the Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins.

In Lakeview, the Bertuzzis’ new house has six bathrooms, two fireplaces, a family room with custom built-ins and floor-to-ceiling windows, a primary bedroom suite with dual walk-in closets and a primary bathroom with a steam shower, heated floors and two custom vanity cabinets. The home’s kitchen has Wolf, Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances, quartz countertops, custom cabinetry, a scullery and a wine refrigerator.

Other features include a lower level with high ceilings, radiant heating and a large rec room with a bar. Outside on the property are a private backyard and a two-car garage with a party door and a roof deck that includes a custom pergola and TimberTech decking.

The house had been listed in June for $2.25 million, and went under contract a little over a month later.

Ivona Kutermankiewicz, who represented Bertuzzi in the purchase, declined to comment on the transaction.
