Contract: Pre-arbitration
2025 outlook: No longer a projected starter, he’ll have to work to make team. Might have made a tempting trade chip, but not off a .199 season.
In four seasons, he’s made three trips to injured list. Pardon, the 60-day injured list — he has zero career at-bats in August. This time, he played 11 weeks, each a little worse than the one before it, before disappearing.
Contract: Arbitration-eligible (second year)
2025 outlook: He’s never played 90 games, so “needs to stay healthy” is obvious. Becoming average at a defensive position is a worthy goal, too.
Seemed too good to be true when he batted .458 with 8 RBI in his first week in majors. He was. Hit .183 in last 2½ months, with only 19 more RBI.
